- Elite Convergence – S1 Talent Direct Admission Scheme
The school emphasizes holistic development, promoting personalized learning through the "ACTIVE Education" model to fully develop students' potential.
This scheme aims to offer tailored development for students with diverse talents, assisting them in formulating personalized learning plans to equip them for the world as creative and critical future leaders.
The scheme covers five domains: STEAM, Sports, Music, Visual Arts, and Performing Arts, with a total quota of no more than 10 Secondary 1 admission places. Admitted students will receive exclusive training and support during their first academic year (see Section VI for details).
To qualify, applicants must meet the following requirements in their chosen domain:
Domain | Requirements |
STEAM | Participated in STEAM-related territory-wide, national, or international competitions and achieved outstanding results. |
Sports | Won individual awards in competitions organized by the Hong Kong School Sports Federation (HKSSF) in the past 3 years, or participated in territory-wide, national, or international sports competitions (Basketball, Football, Volleyball, Athletics preferred), providing relevant videos or achievements during the interview. |
Music | Must meet at least one of the following criteria: • Hold Grade 5 or above in practical/theory exams from ABRSM or equivalent international bodies with Distinction or Merit. • Achieved Merit or above in the Inter-School Music Festival or territory-wide/national/international solo music competitions in the past 3 years. • Participated in major music performances (e.g., orchestra, choir, public recitals). |
Visual Arts | Achieved outstanding results in territory-wide, national, or international art competitions in the past 3 years, and present/introduce a personal portfolio during the interview. |
Performing Arts | Participated in off-campus performing arts training and held key roles in public performances (e.g., actor, dancer, backstage) in the past 3 years. |
a. Application form and documents for Secondary 1 Admission:
(1) Copy of student HKID card
(2) One passport photo
(3) Copies of Primary 4 and Primary 5 full-year academic report cards
b. Application form and documents for the "Elite Convergence – Secondary 1 Talent Direct Admission Scheme":
(1) Records of participation in intra-school and extra-school training, competitions, and awards across the five major domains over the past three years, with supporting proof (e.g., photos, certificates, awards, or school documentation).
(2) Recommendation letter from the primary school principal stamped with the school seal, describing the applicant's character and learning attitude.
(3) Recommendation letter(s) from coaches, tutors, or specialized organizations (if applicable) proving the applicant's performance, character, potential, and achievements.
Selection and interviews are conducted in two stages by a dedicated school panel.
Stage 1 Selection is evaluated based on submitted materials:
• Portfolio/Resume (internal/external training, exchanges, competitions, awards) (50%)
• Academic Performance (25%) and Conduct (25%)
Stage 2 Selection consists of an Assessment (50%) and an Interview (50%).
Eligible applicants will be notified in early November for selection. Applicants not shortlisted will automatically enter the school's general Secondary 1 admission procedure. For more information regarding Secondary 1 admissions, visit www.mkqc.edu.hk/en/admission.
Application results will be communicated by phone within one week following Stage 2 selection. Successful applicants must complete registration by the designated date in December, or their eligibility will be forfeited. The school's decisions regarding selection results are final.
Students admitted through this scheme will receive domain-specific training and support arranged by the school during their first academic year, including (but not limited to):
• Priority admission to specialized school teams
• Priority places for specialized study tours or activities
• Specialized training or learning programs
• International exchange opportunities
• Overseas training or competition opportunities
• Opportunities to participate in off-campus or on-campus exhibitions or performances
Students demonstrating outstanding performance during the first year will have their exclusive training and support extended to the following academic year.

Interested applicants can submit their applications between September 1, 2026, and October 31, 2026. Applications must be submitted in person to the General Office during school office hours; late or incomplete applications will not receive an interview opportunity.
